Born to noble House of Ishgard, though a silver spoon was far from her lips. The only daughter of Cala'den Azeros and a Gridanian Hyuran woman. Though the pairing was not recognized by the See as legitimate, no one would prevent the Dragoon from caring for his daughter.
Despite the wary looks of disdain and scorn, Kayah was raised along side her dear friend, Haurchefant Greystone. Cala'den's reputation saw to provide him the opportunity to assist in training the sons of Count Edmont de Fortemps, his previous Commander and friend, right up to his disappearance before the Calamity at Carteneau.
After her father's disappearance, Kayah leaned heavily into her duties, trying to fill the void of her father's absence with the respect of her peers. She was seen as cold, calculating and truly vicious in battle. Through her skill, she was given command of those deemed as "undesirable", and sent on patrols no one was intended to return from. Only Lord Greystone pulling her to Camp Dragonhead saved her life.
As the Dragonsong War drew to a close, new emotions began to weigh heavily on the young woman. As the Warrior of Light and the Azure Dragoon ventured deep into Dravania, Kayah knew she had to follow- in blatant disregard of her orders and station at Dragonhead. The feeling in her heart turned to music in her mind as she drew evercloser to the Dusk Wyrm.
The sight of Tiamat bound in the Allagan prison stirred her heart to tears. It was here that the truth of the Dragonsong War was revealed. Taking a chance, Tiamat provided a gift: The spear Celeste, an emotional bond to the Dragon Nidith- shared to her through his right eye, and a new charge completely changed her outlook. She is no longer formally attached to the Congregation, but her name and deeds still hold great respect among her former peers. She has grown into a understanding, sometimes too compassionate woman- and this choice to see the good in others can lead to trouble.
Trapped TruthFinally understanding that Nidith's lineage was not solely with Tiamat, the Scalebound dove deep into the celestial gaol of Dalamud. For six months they struggled and survived- succeeding in awakening The Dawn Wyrms' legacy in Nidith as the last born of Bahamut's essence before his death in Meracydia.
Day to Day LifeWith the Final Days, and the excursion into the red moon passed, many of the Phantasms have sought out new adventures. Kayah has revitalized the name of House Azeros within Ishgard, taking station with Dravania and speaking in Parliament to further the bond between Wyrm and man. While at home, she can usually be found at the Azeros' Estate in the Empyreum, within the Chambers of the Lords and Commons or attending some form of charity event or outreach for those most affected by the recent conflicts. While abroad, simply turn your eyes skyward, and look for the shining scales of Nidith.

ScaleboundIn the wake of the Warrior of Light, Midgardsormr has deigned to select one mortal to serve as an avatar for each of his children.Though Kayah was first to awaken, The Great Wyrm has tasked this group with the protection of the Star and the fulfillment of his oath to Hydaelyn. So far, six have been chosen, with Kayah's mate awakened as an Avatar of Midgardsomr himself to lead them. Due to the burden and instability of these gifts- only three remain. Perhaps when all the broods are awakened, the truth of the Dragonstar will be found.
